The weather was on our side this beautiful day. It was not too hot and the sun was shining. The guide was Liu - he is very nice, organized and knowledgeable. We went to see the Jade factory, then to the Great Wall for 1:30h time enough to walk that whole segment and take plenty of pictures. Some parts are very steep. After we went for lunch and the meal was delicious. Further we went to a tea ceremony and drank tea and bought some as souvenirs. At last we went to a silk market and saw some goodies. Liu kindly offered us to drop us at some other tourist attractions and we went of at the Temple of Heaven. Glorious and unforgettable day! Whenever I book with Viator I get a nice guide, make friends and have a blast! Do book this tour!
The trip was good, despite of the time it took us to arrive at the wall (3.30 hs). ATTENTION : We were just advised that we would have only 2 hours to stay at the wall when we arrived, and we were told that is the standard offered by the company. So if you are planning to stay longer, be advised. The lunch was good, as it was the shopping experiences (despite of the very inflated prices) Our guide have his best to keep us happy, as did the driver
Our tour of the Great Wall was fantastic. Cynthia was a wonderful tour guide, she made the experience very special. She knew a lot about the Great Wall and provide us with a history lesson on the bus to the Great Wall. I highly recommend this tour and that you book in advance.
Great service.Very friendly tour guide.Great small group of people, excellent if you are touring solo.Great Value for price! totally recommend it.
Overall, an excellent tour. Well paced: small friendly group. The tea house at end of tour was intersting but nit necessary.
This was one trip that we were really looking forward to but we must say how disappointed we were after visiting the site. Viators once again didnt let us down. The tour was well organised as usual. We first briefly visited the jade factory which we enjoyed. Then we moved onto the Wall. Unfortunately the weather was not at its best. It was raining on and off on a very very humid day. Our tour guide recommended that we used the cable car up to the top. She purchased the tickets for us and pointed us in the direction of where it left from. She didnt come to the top with us she stayed with the minibus On the journey up to the top, the visibility diminished to a point where you could not see anything beyond 20 / 30 meters. When we arrived on the wall the rain had made the area treacherous. We witnesssed two persons slip badly on the surface. One poor guy must have been 6ft 6ft and he slip flat on his back.. The Wall when the weather is like this should be shut down as its not fun putting your health at risk. After slipping and sliding for about 75min we decided to call it a day and returned to bases of the Wall. Why were we disappointed. Away from the weather, which nobody can control, there is no explanation of the history of the Great Wall not that we could find anything theres no tour brochures or guide books, nothing. Even our guide did not point anything out about the history or how it was constructed. Even on top of the Wall theres no explanation about everything. As somebody said later they had seen better garden walls Following on from here we went for a enjoyable meal at the base of the Wall and then moved on to visit a Tea house. We must say the demonstration at the tea house was first class. The lady who did the presentation spoke perfect English and her knowledge was excellent. We really enjoyed our visited here and purchased some albeit expensive tea. One tip if you want to buy a terracotta tea pot buy one from the markets in Beijing not from a tea house. Very expensive. Overall this trip was good but not great but this was down to weather and nobody elses fault. It was well organised and well run. On another day when the view is clear, I dare say the Wall is an amazing place to visit. But unfortunately for us this didnt happen.
