Itinerary

Stop At: Bike & Saddle Day Tours, V&A Marina Quarterdeck Granger Bay, Cape Town Central 8002 South Africa
We meet at the guests’ accommodation and shuttle up to Signal Hill for a bird’s eye view of the Atlantic Seaboard. From here we descend slowly into Camps Bay and then ride on the route of the iconic Cape Town Cycle Tour which has been voted one of the most beautiful bike rides in the world. We have the beautiful Twelve Apostles Mountain Range on the left and the stunning Atlantic Ocean on the right. The route takes us to the historic Hout Bay Harbour and we then make our way up the spectacular Chapman’s Peak mountain pass, where we stop at the top for an absolutely superb photo opportunity overlooking Hout Bay harbour and Sentinel Hill.
A short drive along the ocean brings us to the conservation village of Scarborough where a scrumptious lunch awaits. The menu is focussed on healthy living and locally sourced ingredients.
We shuttle thereafter to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, which is a must-see on any visit to the Mother City. A towering headland at the end of the peninsula, it is the meeting point of the cold Benguela current and warm Agulhas current as the western and eastern oceans collide in spectacular fashion.
It is the most southwestern point in Africa and abounds with indigenous fynbos (“fine bush”) of the Cape Floral Kingdom, a Natural World Heritage Site that is the smallest, yet most diverse, of the world’s floral kingdoms. We enjoy a guided hike to the old lighthouse at Cape Point which stands head and shoulders above everything else in the reserve. It was completed in 1859 and stands at 238 meters above sea-level on the highest section of the peak. The historical building is now used as the centralized monitoring point for all the lighthouses on the coast of South Africa.
We return back to the city along the eastern side of the peninsula. On the way to Cape Town we pass Simons Town, the home of the South African Navy and the legend of Just Nuisance, the only dog ever to have been enrolled into the Royal Navy.
This tour is sure to leave you with lasting memories of our Fairest Cape. (No Boulders, Lunch in Scarborough - I'll provide details)
