Underground Tour was an interesting history tour but not scary. Tour guide was very friendly and informative. Wish the tour could have spent more time exploring the underground vaults.
Leader was knowledgeable. Spent personal time with individuals after tour. Cared about how we felt about our experience.
We were really looking forward to their tour. Our guide was very good and knew many stories to tell. I think we should have chosen to do it after dark as that might have added to the atmosphere. It showed us places to visit and we took ourselves back to many the next day. We thought that we would have been underground for longer,
It was a great experience - cool and dark history of Edinburgh. Thank you Lady Primrose. Definitely recommend that!
David was a wonderful, presenter. The group was on time, covered a lot of ground, and had a chance to visit thenarea under the buildings and roads. David’s Timing was excellent, as he paused just long enough to scare his audience. The on,y thing I’d add was the statue of the Greyfrier Dog, as we walked past it twice, without mentioning the meaning of the brass statue. It was an excellent tour, and one of the only ways to have a chance to go under the existing city.
This was a great tour, Thomas Weir was quite theatrical and was clearly proud of Scotland's heritage and also very knowledgeable; the sad truth of times gone by really came across. The vaults were dank and as unpleasant as they would've originally been, I would recommend this for families.
Guide as knowledgeable and tour was as described. Nothing really magical or special about it though. Free tour we picked up on the street the day before was more entertaining.
Our guide was cheerful and knowledgeable. I have enjoyed the tour and learned a lot about life in underground Edinburgh.
This tour was a lot of fun. Also a little spooky too. Our guide was fun and informative. Dress up warmly as Edinburgh can be cool and windy in the evening and also you will go underground for part of this tour.
It wasn't anything the tour guide did.... It was just lame. I don't even think we were really underground! You only go into a few very small rooms and if you are in a big group it is hot. If you are claustrophobic I wouldn't recommend it.
Thomas Weir was excellent! He played the role to a tee. He was extremely knowledgable and super entertaining. He also went above and beyond by providing my best friend and I other suggested touristic sites and restaurants after the tour was done. Highly recommend this tour with Major Weir :
This is NOT a Famous Underground Ghost Tour with Vaults as it's described us. It's the worst Ghost Tour I've been at! Firstly, you are NOT taken to the Vaults - you are taken to a very small section. This is the only part of the whole tour 15 mins that we were given a ghost story but it was played down so the kids got no excitement. The whole tour on ground is the history of Edinburgh when we came to the graveyard and I thought, yes this is where the kids will get the excitement but no ghost stories here either. This tour should be called The History of Edinburgh. The tour guide certainly wasn't passionate and energetic as the tour was described as either! We were only in Edinburgh for 2 nights and this was the main event for the kids which turned out to be rubbish! I've been on a ghost tour in Edinburgh previously and it was excellent with a fantastic enthusiastic guide and then we were taken to the vaults ... this is why I know we were not in the vaults.
