El barco sale por la mañana de Portimão cuando el mar está muy tranquilo, con las condiciones ideales para una inolvidable visita a las cuevas. Comience la jornada en el histórico puerto de Portimão. Siga el río Arade, pasando por el pueblo de pescadores de Ferragudo y dos fortalezas medievales para entrar en el océano Atlántico. Con la potencia del motor, el barco va al sureste, pasando por el faro de Ferragudo, la playa de Caneiros, la torre romana y la cueva de contrabandistas. Seguimos a lo largo de la costa de Carvoeiro con las formaciones rocosas de Algar Seco, Praia Vale Centianes, hasta el faro de Alfanzina. Continuamos a lo largo de las playas de Benagil.

This guy can REALLY get you in the caves.. other larger boats, can only get so far.... but we were in all the amazing caves, practically to the beaches within... and he knew so much about the area... recommended a beach to go to for lunch and swimming and that was excellent too... highly recommend his boat and him as a guide. I don't know what I was thinking... but I wore a swimsuit... out off shore, it is cold and the water is cold so you are not going swimming... don't do what I did : but bring a suit to go to a beach after :
A beautiful tour. My husband and I booked this private tour because he is an amateur photographer who wanted the opportunity to shoot the caves before they were overrun with other boats. Mauro graciously agreed to take us out early at first light. It was beautiful. The sea was calm and we hardly saw any other boats. He did a great job maneuvering the boat so that my husband could get the photos we wanted. All in all it was well worth the money. Practical considerations: after reading initial reviews, I was worried about the boat. Others had commented that it was small, they felt nervous, etc. I was pleasantly surprised--it was a nice, modern boat. Sure it's small, but it had to be to navigate the caves. The seats were sturdy, there were places to hold on, and we never felt tossed about on the waves. We felt quite safe and secure.
There were lots of tours happenings at the same time as ours, but because we are in the smaller boat, we were the only ones who could really go back into the caves. This tour was totally worth it and lots of fun. The guide was so nice to offer to take lots of pictures of our group.
The highlight of our 10 day trip to Portugal!!! Our captain Mauro was the best! His knowledge and experience allowed us to see Benagil and many others in a way you only dream of! Seas were too rough the day before But we went out and felt perfectly safe. Dont miss this trip!!!
Great experience. The boat looked small. But after reading a review before travelling I took me family including the children for the trip. The Guide knows the sea well. Mauro knows exactly what he is doing. He was cheerful, friendly and communicated well in English. He knows exactly what he is doing and we felt confident. A good view of the caves and amazing scenery.
This trip was AMAZING! Cannot say enough nice things about our captain and the tour. We saw so many caves and even got to get off the boat and spend some time inside Benagil. We were able to modify the time to go at 7 am first light, and the boat fits at least 5 people! Highlight of our trip.
