Excursión de Fort Lauderdale a Cayo Hueso

This trip will take you to Keywest and bring back. All the activities at Keywest is self guided. The driver will help with arranging tickets for some of the activities. The actual trip is from Miami beach. If you take the tour from Fort Lauderdale,you will spend add ~2 hrs on both ways to actual trip as there are many pickups and drop offs between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Fort Lauderdale pick up is from limited locations/hotels only.

After arriving in Key West after a relaxing bus trip from Fort Lauderdale, we took a local narrated train-trolley trip (paid there) from the center of town to see and tour all around and hear about this very, very historical town. We also watched some of the marathon run going on that day. Since you can repeat the train-trolley trip at no charge, we took the ride with a different driver to hear and learn more! Overall this was "A" plus!

If this is the only way you can get to Key West for a one day visit, then it's a good plan. We grabbed our Ft Lauderdale shuttle at 5:45 am. I recommend bringing your own snacks and coffee. It was kind of cool driving through South Beach and Miami so early to see what it looks like when it's quiet. We stopped for 20 minutes in Key Largo for a bathroom break and to grab a quick snack at Dunk'n Doughnuts or the McDonalds it's not enough time, but it's understood there is a timeline. As other readers have said, there is a FREE hop on hop off bus running all day at the point where you are dropped off. The drivers were very good and upon our arrival back to Miami, they made sure we were the first ones dropped off to get our shuttle back to Ft. Lauderdale.

This trip was worth it! Be prepared for a long day. Good opportunity to visit key west without the stress of driving. 6 hours is a good amount of time to be there just make sure you have your day planned in advance to utilize the most of your time. Only thing is as far as the communication about the transportation from the morning to the evening was a little confusing. We had a shuttle (which was great) pick us up from our hotel in the morning to bring us to Miami to get on the shuttle bus. Where on the way back the shuttle bus is the one that brought us back (which we had to ask).

If you are joining from fort laLauderdaget ready to experience some early day and really late night. The rest of the tour is fine.

Key West was great the trip there was good but long.driver was good but could have narrated more .We started in Fort lauderdale and took almost 3 hours to pick up everyone before heading for key west and had to drop them off on way home the trip thru downtown Miami was great but that 3 hours dropping people off made a long day almost unbearable

Our driver was a little over enthusiastic and difficult to understand. His command of English was fair. Everything was repeated in Spanish which was annoying. The trip began with a very early pickup - 5:45 am and we were delivered to a larger bus in Miami - none of which had been communicated to us prior to getting on the smaller van or even throughout the first part of the journey. Then we spent the next two plus hours making multiple stops picking people up! Had we known there were so many pick up spots, we would not have booked this trip.
