Acerca de esta actividad
At 8.30am your tour guide and car will pick you up from your hotel and will start our tour of Ho Chi Minh City. You will get to know its history and culture by stopping at:
The Reunification Palace - on April 30th, 1975, what the Vietnamese refer to as the 'American War' officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time, the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam
War Remnants Museum - formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes is a poignant display of the futility of war. Some of the black and white photography in the 'Requiem' exhibit is particularly touching and is dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict.
Notre Dam Cathedral and General Post Office were built around 1877 and 1883 respectively. These two iconic buildings are fine examples of French colonial architecture. Remarkably every stone used in the building of the Notre Dam Cathedral was shipped from France to Vietnam. The Old Post Office is also the country's largest post office.
The Opera House, after the lunch at local restaurant, we take you to see Chinatown and the Chinese market Binh Tay. We then move on to Thien Hau Pagoda, a temple entered through an iron gate and crossing a small courtyard. The roof is decorated with delicately fashioned porcelain figurines expressing themes from Chinese religion and legends. Lanterns and wooden models of Chinese theaters hang over the entrance. Our final stop before taking you back to your hotel is Ben Thanh Market, one of Vietnams largest markets and a real heart beat of Ho Chi Minh culture.

My daughter and I took this tour. In our opinion, this tour guide is not ready to lead an 8- hour private tour. Although she came as an English speaking guide we had problem with communication. She can speak the language, but comprehension of normal conversation was lacking. During the tour, she acted as if she did not know the tour itinerary of the day because we frequently needed to remind her of the agenda... At the Vietnam War at Reunification she did a fine job sharing historical information, but as we continued the tour she was unable to share much detail about the other sites we visited At the second and third sites the War Remnants Museum and the Post Office we were rushed out of the buildings so that she could take us to a coffee shop in 90 degree weather, and a craft shop that were not a part of the itinerary and pestered to buy things we did not want... . This is a joyful tour with a guide who has knowledge to share.....so realizing that we were not getting the full benefit of the tour, my daughter and I quietly decided to end it and asked her to drop us off at a shopping mall nearby instead of taking us back to the hotel. She agreed! Next thing I know..we were back at the hotel. She speaks English, but does not understand the language... The tour ended amicably.
Excellent tour and guide, very informative good lunch and good value
excellent. out tour guide was fantastic, polite very obliging excellent knowledge and would answer any questions. lunch was excellent as well.
Our tour guide was extremely friendly and helpful but could hardly speak or understand English eg I requested to spend more time at the war remnant museum and make the time up by not going to the china market and although the guide agreed and said that he understood, he did not and we landed up at the china market without spending enough time at the museum. The lunch was at a very nice restaurant and the food was very good, however there were no explanation regarding payment for drinks and nether were we provided with a menu or price list. The bill for 2 simple drinks was tough and unexpected.
We look forward to this Full Day Tour but were bitterly dissatisfied and disappointed with the Tour guide as her English was very bad and communication between us was very trying. She informed us after the odd English wording she had been a Guide for a year to English and Chinese tourists. I cannot believe she had not picked up more English than she spoke. She admitted her English was not good but tries hard....not an answer we were expecting. We could have visited the Itinerary ourselves for less a price....We wished we had booked the tour for the Mekon Delta.
The tour guide /the whole tour is very informative, and it was great.
Vy did a great job as our tour guide and we had a wonderful time. Her English skills were very good and her knowledge of Vietnamese history and culture were decent. Her enthusiasm and cheerful attitude were infectious and her patient and helpful attitude were exemplary. She went out of the way to help us get Water Puppet show tickets something we thoroughly enjoyed and even took care of our luggage meanwhile since we had already checked out of the hotel and needed to proceed directly to the airport thereafter. - Sathya Kumar
