This tour was rather disappointing. After we booked the dinner cruise online we were then told that the cruise boat was not operating that evening because of Lunar New Year Holiday. So the dinner was swapped for one in a local restaurant. It would have been ok if the restaurant had not been swamped with many other tour groups that had the cruise cancelled and we felt like being cattle heard to the feeding. The waiters just piled up the food at our communal table we were sitting at the same table with three other families and were trying to rush us through the meal. They never brought us any drinks and after we inquired for some water we were told we had to pay separately for that. In the end our tour guide a very nice and decent fellow by the way picked up the drinks bill, but a few of the people at our table had nothing to drink the whole evening we all felt we had paid too much for an ordinary meal at that restaurant. Another disappointing aspect was the cycle tour that was advertised as being a tour of the old city, while in fact it ended up being our lift breathing in car and motorbike exhaust gases along the shortest route from the restaurant back to the hotel by some pushy bicycle taxis that demanded heavy tipping at the end of the ride. The positive aspects were the water puppet show, the quality of the food at the restaurant was actually very good shame we were rushed through the different servings and that the restaurant was so jammed packed with people waiting for a table and our guide was very friendly and tried to adjust to the shortcomings as best he could he also arranged for a cake to be served at the restaurant since it was my wife's birthday.
We enjoyed the dinner cruise on Indochina Junk! The food, however, needs to be improved. The tour guide Long was very helpful. The water puppet show was too long, and hard to understand for foreigners who don't speak Vietnamese. The cyclo tour around Saigon was the best part of the tour!
