Acerca de esta actividad
This is a special way to experience the city of the birth of Jesus, as you venture into the West Bank. This Bethlehem tour provides a great opportunity to explore this city on a guided tour. Your first stop is one of the oldest churches in the world, where it all began; The Church of the Nativity, the birthplace of Jesus. A huge church with a long history of religious significance, you will be able to see the various chapels of the Catholic, Armenian and Greek Orthodox Christians.
Next you will visit the Franciscan Grotto of the Lady Mary and learn how the ‘Milk Grotto’ got its name. A large underground cave with a Franciscan chapel built directly on top, this is the site where it is believed that Mary and Joseph took Jesus for refuge from King Herod, before fleeing across the holy land to Egypt.
Your final visit for the day is in this ancient city, is to the Shepherd’s fields on the outskirts of the city. Believed to be the location where the Shepherds sited the Star of Nativity before venturing to visit Jesus, these fields hold a number of stunning shrines and a beautiful chapel, drawing pilgrims from around the world.
This tour will provide you with the best opportunity to spend a day focused on the sacred city of Bethlehem, with all the logistics looked after, leaving you to absorb the amazing spiritual sites, whilst hearing the historical and biblical background to each site.

Excellent tour and tour guide. Fadi did a great job of showing us the sights and giving us the history behind them.
We were the only two participants of this tour so it ended up being private. Our guide and driver turned up at the hotel on time. Starting early at 8am their suggestion was a good tip both because of the heat and because we arrived at Bethlehem way before the crowds, we were almost alone there. The Nativity Church is under renovation until Dec so we couldnt see much of the interior but the birthplace of Jesus was accessible between masses. Our guide made sure we got there at the right time. Afterwards we saw the Milk Grotto Church and the Sheperds' Fields. All almost empty. There were two things about the tour which made us reduce our rating. First, the commentary was very very basic, at the early Sunday School level, and practically didn't add any information on architecture or decor. Questions were answered very briefly. Second, the guide suggested to us several times that we want to buy souvenirs and took us to his friend's store where we felt pressured to buy something. We probably should have been more adamant that we had no interest, but we wanted to make a stop at the wall to take pictures of murals and didn't want to spoil the atmosphere. One suggestion to add to the tour attractiveness would be to include a few stops at Banksy's murals. We found them by accident and the trip wouldn't be the same without it.
