This was our first kayaking trip and it was magnificent. Tyler was our guide and he was fantastic. Easily one of the best parts of our kauai trip. Highly recommended!!!
This was a wonderful and beautiful excu. Our tour guide Tyler was awesome. He was very knowledgeable about the trees and plants and very engaging. Great young man!!
Most people on the tour fell or slipped because it’s so muddy/rocky/stumps almost all the way to the falls. The only hike on the island where you need a walking stick. The waterfall was worse than all others on other islands..so windy and blowing into your eyes. You never got to enjoy the scenery for fear of falling on the way to/from the falls and the kayak trip was like a race so you couldn’t enjoy the scenery then. I will never take or recommend this excursion, even with a fun/friendly guide like we had.
Tyler was out guide for the trip. Very good explanation for proper kayaking techniques. Very knowledgeable of the area and safety was his primary concern. The kayaking was great. Once to the waterfall, it was perfect. Nice lunch provided. A definite must in Kaua’i.
We had a great time. The river was calm, peaceful, easy to kayak. The hike was interesting, Phil was knowledgeable about the island, the trees, the water. Had a great time at the waterfall, it was COLD when you first got in, but got used to it quickly. Great pictures were taken. THEN DISASTER. The rocks were slippery, I fell, cracked my head on the rocks, caught my wrist between two rocks. All of the guides were at my side immediately. No blood, just lots of pain. One of the guests was a paramedic, he helped them splint and wrap my wrist properly. Ice and pain meds were given, i made my way up the hill, had a bit of lunch, and hiked back to the kayaks. Needless to say, I could not use the oars to get back. Phil had me move to his kayak. Left on plane the next day, got x-rays, yes wrist is broken, Surgery is Thursday to put a plate in my wrist to hold bone in position. Great excursion, horrible ending, but it was MY FAULT, not theirs. Enjoy yourself, but be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're practically on your own as far as safety. Not enough guides to watch people.
Best thing I did on my vacation. Great tour guide Kelly who added lots of interesting facts along the kayak and hike portion.
Great introduction to the beauty of Kauai. Our guide was wonderful and we had a great group. This is a good outing for people without a lot of hiking or kayaking experience. Highly recommend
Saw way more than I thought I would see. Our guide was great and was very informative. I would recommend this tour to anyone that wants to see the true beauty of Hawaii. The hike can be a challenge just bring proper footwear.
