What a great way to see the south side of the island and learn a lot about it! Our tour guide, Kats, was just AMAZING! So much fun, and the canyon is just beautiful!
The canyon views were great and enjoyed that part of the tour as it was my main focus. The lunch was very nivpce. However the bus driver didnt stop after the half day component which was my part of a combined tour to drop me off at my hotel. This meant that I went to the Fern Grotto. While this may not have bothered most people since it was basically free, I didnt want to go as I have been before and not particularly recommended going there as it is very overrated in my eyes. So I missed doing what I had planned for the afternoon and the driver was quite nonplussed about it all.
The tour was amazing .
Beautiful scenery and jaw-dropping canyon. So pleased we got to see this.
The tour itself was okay. I had thought that we would have several stops and go further into the canyon, but believe our trip was cut short because they were running 90 minutes late for a bus breakdown first thing in the morning. Best part of the trip was the driver/tour guide named Juan. Born and raised on Kauai, Juan had tons of great facts to share with us and he is a great story teller too.
Excellent tour but, sadly, the weather Gods were against us and we didn't see the canyon due to low, very low cloud lol. All in all a great tour, though.
Although i expected at least a little bit of hiking, I enjoyed the trip.
Wonderful guide/driver well informed and able to share with his visitors. Only confusion was we didn't realize we were on what was called the 'half-day' tour the website indicated a longer time but joined the group for the lunch on our own at Joe's at the golf course which we much enjoyed. The tour accomplished all we had hoped it would, thanks.
Lukia was a great tour bus driver to Waimea Canyon. What I liked about how she ran the tour, we didn't just go to see Waimea Canyon and come back. She took us to a lot of the local destinations along the way, like Spouting Horn, Kauai Coffee Plantation, and others. She was humorous and helpful. The canyon was breathtaking once we arrived, even on a slightly cloudy day. it looks like something straight out of movie for sure! An enjoyable day for sure on this tour.
