The trip takes three hours each way from Athens so it was a very long day. However, our guide was excellent and gave us a lot of Greek history on the way up. The views from the Temple of Apollo were breathtaking and the museum is excellent. Got to see a lot of the countryside that we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Overall worth the time and effort.
Sites, guide and tour were great. Tour group was unorganized as we left and took 15 minutes to sort out people being on the wrong bus, then forgot microphone so our guide needed to go slowly on tour to gather group and share her stories. But info on the tour was great and overall sites and sharing on trip should not be missed.
Delphi is an amazing place. It does need stamina and good foot wear for climbing the slopes and steps in the heat, but the effort is worth it. Our guide, Irene, born in Athens, was incredibly knowledgeable with very good English and although the coach journey was long she kept us entertained and educated. She also explained the exhibits in the museus and invited (and answered) questions the whole time. Really enjoyed this and can recommend.
This tour combines with one that is a 2 day tour to Delphi/Meteora which a lot of people seemed to do. This one day tour to Delphi was a great experience filled with lots of historical information. I’m not a huge history/museum fan but the guide (who spoke awesome English) did a great job telling us stories behind the history and the interesting facts from that era. Bring water and wear comfortable walking shoes that you don’t mind getting dusty as by the end of the day I had walked approximately 10 kilometers (~6 miles). The lunch option provided by the tour is a sampling of a bunch of different Greek-style dishes. This includes, spinach pie, tziziki with bread, Greek dolma, a beef patty stuffed with cheese and a side of rice and fries, and a slice of cake or fruit. If you don’t get the lunch option, you can order from the restaurant. I ordered a full serving of dolma and souvlaki (chicken skewers) and was full. Those that paid for the lunch option were also satisfied with the amount of food.
Great tour to Delphi. Of all the tours taken in Greece, this was my favorite. Our tour guide Evan was amazing. The drive there and back was very scenic. I would have enjoyed a little more time in the area but overall a great trip. Would highly recommend.
Our guide, Evangelos, was very knowledgeable about Delphi and environs. He told us alot about the history of Greece and the Greek gods on the way there to set up the main event. It was an excellent day. Be warned though that it can be very hot and there is some climbing to get to the top of the site. The museum was amazing!
It was a solid tour that offered what was promised. There were a few kinks, like stopping at a rest stop that EVERY OTHER TOUR stopped at as well. This caused ridiculous bathroom lines that were only eclipsed in ridiculousness by the prices of food and drinks at said rest stop. Time was limited at Delphi, but it is understandable given the distance. Probably could have made up for time by NOT offering lunch on this tour, as we were taken to a restaurant that, again, had ridiculous prices. All in all, I saw what I wanted to see in the timeframe that I wanted to see it, so no real complaints.
Chose this tour company b/c it was highly rated. They didn't disappoint. The tour guide, "Mel", was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and kept us engaged throughout the trip including the long drive there and back. The time allotted to each activity felt right. The site itself is an interesting one although I found the views on the drive to be just as captivating. There was wifi on the bus, but it was limited and nearly useless. That would be my only criticism.
It was a good experience; the site and the museum. The tour leader was good and explained every detail. The site was very dusty (though you do not feel that) and we never expected that. So if you want to do this tour be ready for the tour and take a face mask or similar protection otherwise you could come back with a runny nose. Do not include the lunch, but you could have a western style meal at the same restaurant to own liking.
Sirs Two of us recently took a trip to Delphi using your service. I was a bit skeptical at first about doing a long bus trip but the guide (Marianna Tsigaridou) did an outstanding job. She has an immense knowledge of the historical sights and she kept us well informed throughout the trip both on the bus going up and back as well as being a first rate guide of the historical ruins and the museum. Even though it was a 2-3 hour bus ride up and back, she had stops planned for bathroom breaks and was such a good narrator of historical details that you were always entertained. She has a great speaking style and very clear pronunciation of the the English language so it was very easy to understand everything she was telling us. Again, this was a great bus trip to see the historic Delphi ruins and in large part was due to Marianna and I would certainly recommend this trip again. Wm Kessler
In addition to the amazing sites and the comfortable ride through the beauty that is Greece's mountains, Marianna Tsigardou, our guide, was thoroughly knowledgeable about the places and their histories. She had a friendly and clear way about her leading the way. I am so glad I took this tour.
The trip was great. The location, the history, the view, the air! Magnificent. However I am not sure that taking this as a group trip on the bus was the right idea. All tour operators run this trip on the same schedule. And they all stop on the same rest area. That was terrible: we talking about 10 different buses from the different agencies (Gate1, etc.) arrived to that small cafe\store at the same time. Line in the restroom, line for the coffee and snacks, line for gifts. No fun. Also there are a lot of places that I would stop just to admire the view and snap a picture that bus is just passes by. Tour guide was nice but on the way back he was not even talking.Included meal option is a joke: we got 3 salads to share between 6 people, a little bit of pasta, 2 peaces of chicken and some sweets. Water, beer, wine were extra. For the money we spend upfront we could have a great dinner there on our own. So I would definitely advise against this food option.Another thing with the group approach - you actually don't have enough time to go through the historical site and enjoy it. After the tour guide finished his portion of the tour we had to pretty much run to the top of the area and back if we wanted to see everything...About the bus (this is just for the information and not a complain): it was nice and clean but it did not have any power outlets to charge phones, etc. Also it would be nice if they provided water. The bus driver turned on heater pretty high so the air in the bus was very dry. Overall it was an OK trip. Again, the nature, the view, the historical site are GREAT. This is definitely a place you have to visit when in Greece. But doing this as a part of the big group - BIG "?".
This tour was very nice. There is a lot, a lot of walking but the guide make it very interesting and fun.The food at the end of the tour was very nice. I really recommend it to anyone interested in ancient history of Greece.
Must do if you're in Athens, tour was great, ride and dinner was nice. Guide was excellent. History of this place is beautiful and impressive to see.
The tour itself was great. Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided valuable information throughout the entire trip from pick-up to drop-off. We opted out of the lunch included package and got dropped off in town where we had a great lunch on our own. We were given an hour to explore the town on our own which was nice. Two cautions: Our hotel was not on their list of hotel pick-ups and although we were told we'd be emailed about where to meet, we weren't. We had to call the day before to confirm a location. Not helpful when you don't have an international calling plan. Also, one of the members of our tour took her time returning to the pickup point at Delphi which held up the whole tour bus and caused us to return to Athens late. Also not helpful if you have plans or need to catch a flight home as some did. Otherwise, great tour!
Our tour guide I can't remember her name was simply wonderful!
Excellent tour. It well guided by the tour guide. Awesome food with family house. Highly recommended.
Everything on the tour ran smoothly and exactly as advertised. Yiouli was an incredible guide, providing just the right amount of information with the perfect pacing. Nikos was a great driver and the bus was very comfortable. So happy we decided to do this tour.
Good tour, tour description mentioned about stop in village but it was solely for restaurant stop. If you opted for the lunch inclusion we saw huge portions being served, you may just want to skip that and order a la carte.
