Tras la recogida en el hotel de Las Vegas, viaje corto en coche hasta la presa Hoover Dam para una breve parada para sacar fotos. Esta presa de 221 metros (726 pies) retiene el poderoso río Colorado, detrás de la cual encontrará el lago Mead, un hermoso embalse artificial contenido dentro de las paredes del Cañón Negro. ¡Haga todas las fotos que quiera!
Luego, diríjase a la pequeña ciudad minera de Chloride, una comunidad que ha sobrevivido en el difícil entorno del desierto desde la década de 1860. Aquí se explotaron plata y otros minerales durante décadas, y tras el auge de la minería, Chloride casi se convirtió en una ciudad fantasma. Hoy, Chloride es hogar de unos 250 residentes que están muy orgullosos de su historia minera. Recorra las tiendas de antigüedades; admire las diversas esculturas artísticas y charle con los lugareños antes de disfrutar el almuerzo.
A continuación, conduzca a lo largo de la histórica Ruta 66 hasta la pequeña ciudad fantasma de Oatman. La actual población de esta ciudad fantasma es de 150 personas y un fantasma que tiene el nombre de "Oatie el fantasma". Se cree que es el espíritu de William Ray Flour, an minero irlandés que murió detrás del Oatman Hotel.
Disfrute de las vistas de las Black Moutanis y plantas rondadoras y burros salvajes que pasean libremente por la ciudad. Disfrute de una copa en un salón local (por cuenta propia) antes de viajar a través del desierto Mojave, siguiendo la Veterans Memorial Highway, una carretera que corta directamente por el paisaje del desierto vacío.
La última parada antes de regresar a las luces de la gran ciudad, el "glamour" y la ostentación de Las Vegas se realizará en la ciudad de El Dorado, bautizada por los españoles que descubrieron oro en la zona. Esta ciudad sirvió de telón de fondo para muchas famosas películas del oeste y también alojó a la famosa mina de Techatticup, en donde se desenterraron millones de dólares en oro y plata.
La excursión concluye con el traslado de vuelta a su punto de partida original.

Overall a good experience. Lots of countryside seen tour guide was very informative and the small group made the journey very pleasant. The site visits were ok however I was disappointed with the towns for some reason I was just expecting more. The information provided by the tour guide was more interesting. Overall a good day if you are looking at experiencing a trip on Route 66.

Get away from the noisy city and explore the small quiet cities of the ghost towns. Our guide was very knowledgeable and he kept us very entertained.

This trip took in four stops. The bridge overlooking Hoover Dam, Chloride, Oatman and Nelson. The stop at Hoover Dam was 20 minutes. The stop at Chloride was 40 minutes but really was just some people’s houses and a shop.Oatman however was fab, yet we only had one hour. This meant time to look at the small jail, have a very quick drink in the saloon, watch the gunfight (which was done for charity, maybe because it was out of season but it was a fight between two men and a teenage boy who was the sheriff. They were good and I did enjoy it but it is a stretch to call it professional, as I say it could be because it is out of season). We had a quick walk down the street and then we had to leave. It would have been nice if the company had booked a table for lunch in the saloon.The final stop of Nelson was somebodies house filled with Knick knacks and a garden full of cars and machinery. There were certain areas only tour groups could go. I think that the company should have included a tour, again we had 45 minutes but it wasn’t very big. A tour may have bought it to life a bit.Overall one star for Oatman the star of the day, one star for the guide who was knowledgeable. But it was far too expensive, not enough time in the one place with things to look at, too much time in places that wern’t worth it (not in winter at any rate), a tour would have been nice in Nelson.

This tour was amazing. We went to Chloride, Oatman and El Dorado. My favorite was Oatman when we had lunch with the burros. It was a lot of fun and our guide was great.

Excellent great trip, had the tour guide all to ourselves and it turned out to be one of the best trips we have done. Was such fun and we where made to feel at ease with the tour guide Michael who was entertaining and fun

We had a thoroughly enjoyable day exploring the ghost towns and Mike our guide was extremely knowledgeable and kept us amused and interested with his stories and detailed history of Chloride,Oatman and Nelson Arizona. We would highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to get Mike as your guide you will be in for a very entertaining day.
