One of the best tours I have ever taken. Carta, our guide, was exceptional and he took great care of everyone and made sure everyone had good time!
This tour was awesome especially the dune buggies and sand boarding. Aaron our tour guide couldn't have been any better. He was intuitive, energetic, and fun. One thing to keep in mind, the boat trip to Ballestas Islands is chilly so be prepared. Overall a great tour!
Lisa Marie greeted us at McDonald's very early in the morning to start our day. She was able to keep our very large group on track and on time for all excursions. The Ballestas Islands were beautiful, and it's no wonder why the local people have dubbed them the "poor man's Galapagos". We were able to see dolphins, penguins, HUGE sea lions, and many different species of birds. It was wonderful, but still wasn't the end of the day! We headed to sand boarding and sand dunning next. So much fun! I wish we had spent a full day there. The sunset was magnificent and peaceful. Bring a scarf to avoid windburn. Local people also sell face masks if you don't want to bring a scarf. McDonald's was closed for some reason when we returned. It was around midnight, but they are normally opened 24 hours. We needed WIFI to order an Uber, and Lisa Marie was able to find a solution for us at a hostel across the street. She was a master problem solver as she was able to think on her feet and pull other resources for several travelers who needed assistance in one way or another. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. She was the icing on the cake of a very wonderful day!
Lisa was great fluent both in English and Spanish. My boys had a great time with sand boarding and dune buggy. The Islas Ballestas was my favorite and will do it again and book peru hop again on pur next trip. On time pick up and very organized.
Funny guides and good organisation! We saw pinguins, and did a sandboarding and sandbuggitour. and we are so sorry, that we had no more money for tip for carlos and carlos!
Our family of 4, including two teens, loved this tour. It starts early and ends late but we think it was worth it.
This is an experience unlike any other in South America. The Ballestas Islands gave us the chance to see penguins, Peruvian boobies, and sea lions fairly up-close. The dune buggy ride made the trip for me. It's sort of like riding on a roller coaster without a rail--very exhilerating in a beautiful desert that expands as far as you can see. The sandboarding was a bit of a let down, as you can't attach in bindings as you would a snowboard, so have to ride the board on your stomach. It was like sledding on sand--worth trying, but not the highlight. I liked that the tour didn't feel rushed from one activity to the next; there was enough down-time to check out local shops/restaurants and enjoy your surroundings.
The greatest part was Huacachina and sand boarding there. a lot of adrenaline and positive emotions. on the negative side- the voucher said that the bus will come between 5:15 and 6 am (what an interval) and it came even later at 6:15 am. there were no penguins in Paracas and the guide said that there are rarely here as they have to come all way from Antarctica to Peru . But Huacachina part overcame all negatives. plus the guides were really fun. overall impression was very positive
It's a long day, but worth it. The coach is very modern, and extremely comfortable. Our tour guide - Joao was friendly and informative, making sure everyone knew what they were doing and where they had to be. The Ballestas Islands were incredible, like something off the TV and Huacachina was amazing, just wish we had longer there. The sand boarding in the desert was a highlight.
Tour was great if you're used to flying solo, seeing and doing everything independently - not really made for the people who want a guide to show you around and explain things. There was a mix of people from different groups so at times it was confusing to know where you were going and which bus you should take.
This tour was amazing!
