Too much Spanish language extended explanations and questions. We were late arriving in Porto Veneto and could not visit the Church.
Our tour guide was very helpful. The day was well organized and not rushed at all. I suggest lunch on the boat because it was tasty and a nice way to pass the time while looking at the coast line. Would suggest this for anyone.
My husband and I only had 2 and 1/2 days in Milan but we had heard great things about Lake Como and decided to book a day trip. We were at the tail end of our 2 week travels and could not have asked for a better day trip. A van comes to your hotel and picks you up first thing in the morning, and then you rendezvous with about 30 other people and hop on a bus with a tour guide and get on your way to Lake Como. The guide points out some great things about Milan as you head to the highway, but then you just enjoy the scenery as you head out. Then as you hit Lake Como it is the most breathtaking views ever. You only have about an hour and a half to explore and we decided to venture off from the group and do our own thing and meet back at the specified time and spot. We then hopped on a boat for a 2 hour boat ride to Bellagio and that was by far, the best part. I will always reflect back on how extremely beautiful this part of the tour was. We hope to one day come back and do it on our one and stay in one of the gorgeous hotels we saw.
Guide's mike did not work and everyone on tour complained and even though she tried to make adjustments the static was on going. Cruise around Lake Como is not a private boat ride but on a public boat that has many, many stops. Guide tells us to sit on top on right side of boat but as our group is the last one in line, there are no sits available. Then we must try to sit for two hours in the hot sun....after trying and hoping for improvement we left half way through and took the train back to Milan. This was not a guided tour of anything...we could have taken the train to Lake Como and back if we really wanted to enjoy our vacation.
Area is too beautiful.... would have been nice if coach could have stopped above the Como for a photo shoot.... but feasted with our eyes. Very relaxing.
Full day tour. Not physically demanding at all in sense of lots of walking and/or climbing but a full day is a full day and I mean that. About 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Water tour of Lake Como excellent. Guide was knowledgeable and full of juicy gossip on the celebrity locals like George Clooney, etc. Entertaining. The right amount of time in Bellagio and the town of Como. Chris B.
This was a fun trip, but there were just a few small things I would change. The local tour group in Milan that was used by Viator is called Zani Viaggi. They picked us up at our hotel and dropped us at the tour office one hour before the tour was to begin, with no employee being present and the office not yet open for the day. That left us, and others, just standing on a street corner for an hour with nothing to do and no where to sit until an employee showed up to let us on a parked bus. Our guide, Serena, was very knowledgeable with very good english. Be aware that the tour company Zani Viaggi has problems with their headsets. I took three tours with them on this trip and the issue was the same each trip. If you are not standing on top of your guide you cannot hear anything. The trip itself was wonderful, Lake Como and Bellagio are gorgeous. The boat ride was very picturesque, although it should be noted that this is a public boat, so there are crowds and jockeying for seats. It was a very enjoyable day and I would recommend it.
Despite the fact that this trip descended into torrential downpours once we boarded the boat at Lake Como this was a wonderful trip. Our guide was very informative and the stop in Bellagio included what our grandson described as the best pizza he ever had at the Pizzeria Carillon across from the ferry doc. If we could have such a great time on a cold rainy day imagine what this trip would be in the sun.
This was a fabulous day! a really good tour guide who was very informative and the most amazing scenery. A long day but worth the visit. The only down side was a pick up from the hotel didnt include a drop off, which a lot of us had missed. The bus driver that picked us up from the hotel was very unpleasant, luckily he was only the hotel pick up.
The Best Western Location pick up location should be avoided. It appears, if you are not a guest at the Best Western, you have to wait outside the hotel only. The Best Western crew were NOT at all helpful... they were very rude when we inquired about the pick up and if we can wait in the lobby area of the hotel. The tour was ok. Our english speaking tour guide was ok. She explained very little of the Lake Como history. The tour only included hotel pickup and does not include hotel drop off. You have to find your way back to your hotel once the bus drops you off at the tour offices in Central Milan.
