Well organised friendly and helpful crew. Knowledgeable commentary. And we saw a lots of whales, seals, dolphins, jellyfish and a sunfish. Great half day trip.
Absolutely fantastic!!! Guys were lovely and attentive, very informative and saw lots of whales, great photos and memories, kids said their best activity in California xx
My wife and I booked a whale watching trip to fill up some time on our trip to Monterey, not realizing that this would be the most memorable part of our trip! Staff were funny, friendly, and knowledgeable. We started out from Monterey Bay, stopping by to check out the seal colony. The first two hours of our trip were somewhat slow, but eventually we came upon a large bait ball of anchovies. Starting here, we saw a ton of wildlife, including some seals hunting, a random Sunfish, sea otters, and over 150 dolphins (who sped next to our boat for around 15 minutes). The crew found 8 Himpbacks through the trip, one group of 5 that we followed for sometime. Sighting their spouts, seeing one breach, and watching their tails drift down into the water on a dive was not something I ever thought I'd see. At the end of the 4 hour excursion, we headed back to the dock. However, near Pacific Grove we circled and came upon a Blue Whale! It was amazing to see the largest animal to ever live (this one was about 80 or 85 feet long, twice as long as the boat). Would absolutely recommend this! If you haven't been on a boat on the ocean, be sure to take an anti nausea (they offered them for I think $1). The staff took care of those that got sick, but you don't want to be sea sick for this awesome experience!
We went on the 9am trip at Discovery Whale Watch at Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey. The weather was sunny and beautiful. Get this, there were about 50 humpback whales, 1 Gray Whale and dozens of dolphins. About 15 whales came pretty close to us while we were over the 2 mile deep canyon. Only reason a star was lost was the dirty bathroom had only an empty bottle of sanitizer. There was a working sink/soap in the middle of the ship near the snacks and drinks. Staff were helpful, polite and fun.
This trip was worth every penny the guides on the boat were fantastic we saw an amazing amount of seal life including about 30 different whales too many to count dolphins sea otters to name but a few. Value for Money go if you get the chance
