The tour guides at each of the castles were very knowledgeable. I was unaware we were stopping at a little town on the way to Linderhof Palace but it was a pleasant surprise! The town was super cute! I did not realize when I booked the tour that the entrances to the castles was not included in the tour so since they were taking us to both places, it would have been nice to include the entrance fees in the overall price.
This tour made it easy to visit a couple of castles outside of Munich. Who wants to rent a car or take a train? We enjoyed the bus ride and watching the countryside as we drove by. Our guide Christoff and our driver were excellent!! It was money well-spent to go with this tour. The castles weren’t bad either.
This was a good trip overall. Particularly pleasing was having 3.5 to 4 hours at Neuschwanstein Castle, giving you ample time to see the castle and the view of the castle from Mary’s Bridge, which is fantastic. The visit to Linderhof Castle was a bit rushed and not much to see at Oberammergau. The tour started poorly when the staff arranging the buses were clearly overwhelmed by the large numbers and there were no signs and little direction from the staff as to where to go and line up. Completely disorganized but they said this was because of the sheer numbers which had been swelled by people in Munich for the Oktoberfest.
We had a great tour with Elizabeth and driver Nichel (spelling). Both kept us on schedule with a large group (double decker bus) as we made 3 stops - Linderhof Palace, Oberammagau and Neuschwanstein - with plenty of free time at each. Just a reminder this tour does not include the entrance fees - but Elizabeth coordinated all before each location. We had a great full day full of history, lots of walking and the beautiful Bavarian countryside. We were very happy to be part of this “Happy Group.”
The guide was Lucy, very knowledgeable and energetic! Was a.great full day of seeing the beautiful area and the castles.
My wife and I went on this tour, with Lucy as out guide and Smiley as out driver. Very well organized! Lucy was great, she had a lot of knowledge and was also entertaining and funny which made the day even more enjoyable. Bus was air conditioned, it was a beautiful day and the palace and castle we're just gorgeous! So glad we did this! Smiley did a great job driving, to!
Two beautiful castles in 1 day. Our guide, Chris, was very knowledgeable and took great care of his "family". We always knew where to go and not get lost among the hordes of people at both castles. Our family of 5 realized we were quite sportive since we made the walk up to Neuschwanstein Castle in 25 minutes! The only disappointment was the tour guide inside: was he bored? last tour before end of shift? He went so fast that we joined the group ahead of us! We will have to do a virtual tour of the castle. Any questions were met very brief answers? This guy should look for another job. Otherwise, a great day, weather had its up and down but we didn't mind.
The journey was well organized, however it can be improved in many ways especially regarding the hospitality.
The Neuschwanstein Castle was well worth the visit but you need plenty of time. A half day visit is ok but if you take time for lunch, then you will have time to visit the castle but you won't have time to wait in the line for an hour to visit the bridge across the valley where it is possible to get that iconic view (and photo) of the castle. And to me, it is very important to get that view. I believe the castle people could make it where visitors could have other vantage points near the bridge that are easily accessible but do not require you to get to the bridge. Clearing out a few areas for viewing platforms seems like a doable thing.
It was a very good experience. No trip to Munich is complete without visiting the Castle. The bus ride to and from the Castle was relaxing.
Had a fantastic day even though it pored with rain at the start. (Nothing you can do with the weather) The Tour Guide was very good in supplying information and very clear. (In English). The stop at Oberammergau was too short (45 Minutes) due to a large family party arriving late from the Linderhof Palace tour. Not long enough for Lunch, as extremely busy on the day. The extra time could have been allowed, as we got to Neuschwanstein Castle about 2 hours before our tour started. Worth paying the 2.50 Euros (one way) to get the Bus up to the bridge near Neuschwanstein Castle. A fantastic day out and worth every penny. I would recommend it.
The tour was wonderful! Elisabeth was a fantastic tour guide. Very knowledgeable and incredibly friendly.
Not a bad tour. Castle grounds and towns were great. Guide (claira) was average as her English was somewhat poor. Was not sure of money collected initially was for one castle or both. Wound up seeing neither unfortunately.
Easy to book on line. Gave a clear and accurate description of the day ahead. Pickup went smoothly. Comfortable modern air conditioned coach. Lisa did a fabulous job keeping us informed of sights and what we were doing. Thomas also a good driver. Loved the intermediate stops at another Ludwig castle and at Oberammergau. Great having Lisa organise ticketing for Neuschwanstein Castle. Very good value for the money. I’d highly recommend the trip.
This tour was more than I hoped for. Although the castles were amazing, the trip there was worth every cent. Our guide was excellent - professional, polished and funny! Loved every second.
Interesting tour. A bit on the 'rushed' side of things. Rained heavily when about to do the Neuschwanstein castle tour. Suggest tour operator provide complimentary rain coat if it rains (poncho type - use and throw away - very cheap) . REcommend to take bus to bridge first and walk to castle and walk down after castle tour
Very good trip and guide was very informative on the subject and about Germany. The tour was on time everywhere.
My husband and I went on this trip. The views were amazing. I also loved all of the stops. The small town and both castle stops made it well worth it!
This trip was perfect for us as it provided time to rest from arriving the night before while on the bus. Spectacular views of the Bavarian countryside welcomed us on our first day as did they grandiose castle decors. As always , you wish you had more time but this provided us the opportunity to see many sites with little hassle and the convenience of relaxing from place to place. Bring snacks in your bag to munch on and a water bottle to keep hydrated. There is a place to refill (free) near the parking area of Neuschwanstein.
I think this is the easiest way to visit the two castels of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof on a day trip from Munich. I would have loved 10 minutes more for the Linderhof gardens but the time we had to visit Neuschwanstein and the surrounding area was enough.
Tour was organised with very precise timing for the castle tours, due to the number of people going through them, but was still very enjoyable. The tour guide was well organised, and gave some entertaining commentary along the way.
The tour guard is knowledgeable and time management is still good. But can be further improve especially return trip from Schloss Neuschwanstein back to couch bus.
This was even more majestic a view in person than any photo could provide. The tour was fun and engaging. I would have liked a little more time and ability to tour through neuschwanstein a little more. It was a very controlled tour and there is much more of the castle you can’t see due to the restrictions. However, I would still recommend the tour!
Our tour guide, Christine, was excellent. The ride was comfortable. After about a two hour ride, you get to Linderhof castle. Then you visit the historic town of Oberammergau. I highy recommend to buy your souvenirs here. Then you head of to Neuschwanstein castle. Here you grab a quick lunch then head on to a 45 minute walk (incline) towards the castle. You can catch a horse driven carriage to take you two-thirds of the distance for 7 euros, but you still have to walk the rest of the way. Prepare an extra 25 euros cash for entrance tickets for the castle. This is not included in the tour price.
The whole experience was really organized and beautiful. I recommend it 100%. Loved it and I appreciated the attention the guide had with us.
Total waste of time and money and full of turist traps everywhere. Castle visits are less than one hour and other 9 hours is travel time and time they give you to walk around between some 500 souvenir shops. They will ask you for 25 euros for castle ticket but the price on the tickets is less than 20!!For me it was a good leason not to take these rurist tours again...
this was a very rushed tour. i feel that your description is very misleading .although you take us to the 2 castles and the little town it was so rushed .we had to run in the snow just to make a brief look at these places . there was barely enough time to make it let alone actually enjoy this .deeply disappointing would never recommend this
The castles are very nice. Very nice tour wish we had more time but it's a must to visit these castles. Very nice
This day trip was spectular Despite the rain we had a great dayEveryone should go see these beautiful castlesOur tour guide Christine was great!!!!Highly recommend
Well Organised ! Monica and Smiley (the driver )were great,Very Informative and interesting Tour. A Long day but well worth it!
This trip was so much fun. Our guide, Stephanie was very informative. She was a great guide and very sweet. We had plenty of time to see everything and get plenty of photos at all the stops. The bus was very comfortable, clean, and the best part was that you could buy drinks! Our driver was awesome also. He maneuvered the bus very well around corners and while driving in the rain. Highly recommend!
