Make sure you get an early night and put comfy shoes on as this is quite a long day, however it is honestly excellent and the staff are extremely informative and knowledgeable.
We were told to be ready for 7:50AM and we were all ready waiting past the security point for our guide who was late! She was disorganized, didn't have any of the funicular/ferry tickets purchased in advance. The worst part was we ran late as the guide was late and we were waiting for "people" to join our group in the morning who never showed up. They met up with us later. This should have been communicated to them so we don't waste time thinking they are in one place when they weren't getting off the ship. This condensed our trip and cut a lot of things short. What really made us feel unwelcome was the bus driver at the end of our trip was telling Tereza the guide in Italian that he won't drop us by the gate where we were picked up in the morning. Every other shore excursion made sure we were dropped off where we were picked up so we can embark ontime. We had someone in our group that spoke Italian so we understood what he was saying. We were dropped off on the opposite side of traffic where we had to run across three lanes of oncoming, traffic and run to board our cruise ship. This is the most worst tour I have ever attended in all my life. The only highlight is the tour guide (different from the main one) for Pompeii who was nice, knowledgable with Pompeii history and sweet. She got off the bus with us and helped us cross the three main intersections, stopping traffic at points. Our main tour guide sat in the bus and that was that.
In booking our tours, we decided to avoid the ridiculously expensive options available thru the cruise and go with Viator. I will admit, we were nervous about finding our tour guide, and then getting back in time. Those concerns were not a problem. Upon exiting the ship in Naples, we had a short walk to the meeting place. After a few minutes of panic, we found our guide Teresa. She got us on the ferry to Capri and showed us some amazing sights, including a place that gave out free samples of lemoncello and chocolate. Capri is a glorious place that should not be missed. We then took the ferry back to Naples and boarded a bus to Pompeii. The ruins are remarkable. And our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. But to be honest, Pompeii as an experience paled in comparison to the beauty that is Capri. Of course, with young children, the value of seeing Pompeii is significant. If you are cruising and Naples is a port of call, save yourself significant money by booking thru the Viator provider. Great value!
Our tour guide Francesco was very knowledgeable and explained he historical significance of the sites visited. We really enjoyed visiting Capri and the ruins of Pompeii. These places are a must see when visiting Naples. We took a boat trip when in Capri and were able to take breathtaking photos. When in Pompeii, our tour guide was able to give us lots of history which painted a picture of how the city must have been like. Without the guide, you won't get as much out of the trip in my opinion. Overall, I highly recommend this day trip. Be sure to wear your walking shoes.
Great tour of Capri with our hostess Teresa, she knows her stuff and nice to talk to.Capri is something to be seen at least once in a lifetime.
We took the excursion with Lea and it was amazing. We didn't have to do long lines, she was always ahead of everything. She showed us great spots for pictures and knew very well the story of Capri. We would've loved to stay more time in Capri, but the time is tight in an excursion. In Pompeii we had another guide (amazing too), while she waited us outside, to continue the journey. My family and I, really enjoyed the trip!
Capri Island is a beatiful and relaxing place, not seen very often nowadays. Can recomend it. Pompeii is interes ting because of its historical meaning. Relatively well preserved ancient city. Its Good to know that the ticket for pompeii was not included and cost about 15 euros extra, lunchbreak took about 20-30 minutes, hotel pick up can be delayed about 30 minutes. Otherwise The trip was not very demanding. There were shopping oportunities.
I paid extra for the small group tour under 16 people complete waste of money! we got off our cruise ship to find the tour, we then walked to the hydrofoil terminal all 40 of us 2 groups with 2 tour guides our group consisted of 22, because children do not count! after the morning on capri we then got on a large bus to take us to Pompelii , All 40 of us!
Rosella out tour guide was absolutely the best tour guide that I have ever had. She was very knowledgeable, funny, entertaining and she made sure you did not leave a spot until all questions were answered. We started in Capri and had a very small group of 6 people which was also a great way to tour with a guide and the group all got along. After the tour of Capri we had lunch there and headed to Pompeii for a 2 1/2 tour, the best thing about Rosella was as soon as we got through the admissions gate, she gave us an informative 25 minute discussion on Pompeii it was great. The tour actually went 15 minutes over, but it was so good no one said a word or complained about it. Wish I could take all my tours with Rosella!!

Very happy with our guide Francesca. We visited Capri first and had the option of a boat tour around the island, but too cold we thought. We were picked up near our hotel, taken to the ferry, and then to Capri. We had lunch on our own, and then went on the ferry back to Naples. Our driver then took us to Pompeii, where Francesca was very good with guiding us to the most important sights and explaining the area's history and how Vesuvius destroyed the city. Capri was lovely, and Pompeii sad but fascinating. Good combination of experiences, since we had our 15 year old granddaughter with us.
Tour guides were excellent very knowledgeable of area stayed with us and made us feel comfortable only problem was in timing of tour other than that I strongly recommend it to everybody. Mafalda Had historical information and make sure that we enjoyed ourselves in the tour
