EL Centro de conservación y zoológico, Jardines de Ardastra es un tranquilo refugio de 80 años de antigüedad que ocupa 4 acres de exuberantes jardines tropicales a las afueras del centro de Nasáu. Se trata de una combinación única de un jardín botánico, un centro de conservación y un zoo boutique que se especializa en el rescate y la rehabilitación de aves, la educación, la preservación de la historia y la conservación de los recursos naturales.
Ardastra es el hogar de muchas especies nativas de plantas y animales, incluyendo el Árbol Nacional de las Bahamas, el Guayacán; la Flor Nacional de las Bahamas, el Anciano Amarillo y el ave nacional de las Bahamas, el hermoso y exótico flamenco del Caribe. Somos conocidos por nuestros encuentros con animales que permiten a los visitantes "acercarse" a algunos de nuestros residentes.
Animamos a todos nuestros visitantes para realizar una visita guiada para una mejor apreciación de los residentes y nuestra propiedad. Para disfrutar al máximo, también animamos a nuestros visitantes a que programen sus visitas alrededor de nuestros horarios de espectáculos: 10.30 h, 13.30 h o 15.30 h.
Puede participar en la "Experiencia Flamenco", un espectáculo único de la gloria y travesuras de estas increíbles criaturas junto con una excelente narración de su historia. Los visitantes también pueden dar de comer a los coloridos y alegres loros arcoíris del Pacífico Sur y tendrá numerosas oportunidades de fotografiarlos durante su visita.
Mientras camina por los jardines, el personal cordial e informado responderá a las preguntas mientras que los amigos con plumas de dos patas se entretienen libremente. Refrigerios ligeros disponibles en el "Parrot Pit Stop". "Toby's Treasures" está lleno de regalos/recuerdos para que pueda llevarse un pedazo de Ardastra a casa.

This was a nice change from the usual beach or sightseeing excursions we usually take when we get off of our cruise ship. It wasn’t crowded, and all of the trees gave plenty of good shade. Our young grandsons liked looking at the animals and they thought the flamingos were funny. We were able to go inside the flamingo arena for pictures too. It’s nothing like our large zoos at home, but it was a nice easy relaxing day, and very well priced. It was maybe a 10 minute taxi ride from the cruise port.

It was a very quiet, not over-crowded zoo. The staff was extremely friendly to the point that the zookeeper feeding the animals answered many questions for us while we were there. We saw the flamingo show which was great and we participated in the lorikeet feeding.

A great visit if you like flamingos. The zoo is smaller than you would expect, but they are doing some good conservation work there. Watching the flamingo dance and program was great. Feeding the Lorries was a lot of fun as well. If you have the time, it is a quick visit and they can use the money to help their conservation efforts.

Small, but very nice little Zoo. The flamingos were running around us. The flamingo show was great, we even had the chance to make photos with the kids and the flamingos. No additional hidden costs for photos etc..

The gardens were close to deserted when we arrived and closed early so we had to leave. I wasn't too upset about it because there really wasn't that much to see. The grounds were also kind of messy. We watched a lackluster flamingo show while we were there. If you are really excited about going to zoos, you might like this, otherwise it can definitely be skipped.

the staff were helpful and dedicated. the gardens still are rebounding from a past hurricane and storms, I assume. I think they try very hard to make due with the little they have, it not seem too well attended and supported, unfortunately. Nassau in our travels, seemed depressed economy, although the people we came into contact were very hospitable.
