Things were closed down. Took an Uber to stop 1 only for it to be closed down. Had to rush back to stop 6 which was where I came from. Wasted time and money. Couldn’t see most of the tour and it was very disappointing bc of the Red Dress Run. I suggest you discount the tours on those days. Totally not fair to pay full price for that!
Great way to see the highlights of any city. We booked a 3 day ticket which gave us ample time to see what we wanted to. We stayed just outside of the French Quarter and could walk everywhere we needed/wanted to go.
I recommend the Hop on Hop off pass in New Orleans both to learn about the city and as your mode of transportation. NOLA is pretty spread out and if your itinerary includes places like Commander’s Palace or the WWII museum you probably won’t want to walk. We had a 3 day pass. We got on the first day and did a full loop to hear the history and get a lay of the land. After that we used it to get to where we wanted to go. And NOLA is hot most of the year so I’m not going to lie- sometimes we just got on to cool off and rest our feet rather than go all of the way back to our hotel. My only complaint was that sometimes we had difficulty locating the stops and there is a new stop #19 that isn’t yet on their map, but we eventually figured it out
This tour is amazing if you want to explore the city. It gets you to so many locations and comes every 30 minutes I had plenty of time to explore everything I wanted to.
Our bus caught on fire...actually oil line came loose and bus filled with smoke. Tour guides were very calm and helpful. I would have like more factoids.
Saw a lot of the city and learned the city's history. Would recommend it for every age. Have usually beeen happy with Big D bus
We took the 3 day ticket and got off at different stops every day. Check out WWII museum and Blaine Kern!
My boyfriend and I took this tour while we were in New Orleans, and all I can say is wow....we learned more about NOLA and its history through our Uber/Lyft rides than we did from this tour. Our tour guide literally just pointed out sites from the bus route map and said "this is X, stop number X", literally did not provide context or information regarding its significance. She pointed out a restaurant and said they make the best sandwiches, someone asked her what was in them and she said she didn't know. We passed by LOUIS Armstrong Park and she mislabeled it as Neil Armstrong Park until someone on the tour pointed it out. We were 15 minutes or less into the tour and stopped for a rest break, her and the bus driver left the bus and she never turned her microphone off, so we had to listen to ear piercing feedback noises for a good 5 minutes until we said screw it and left the tour to conduct our own self-guided tour. This was the biggest waste of money and time. I cannot believe that I spent almost $80 on these tickets, it's ridiculous.
I bought a 3-day pass for my husband and myself. For the most part, we really enjoyed it. It saved us a lot of walking and we saw parts of New Orleans besides the French Quarter. The unpleasant part was waiting for a bus to pick-up a group of passengers from the Garden district. We waited an hour which seemed excessive. People were tired from the cemetery tour and the tour of the houses and then had to stand and wait for an hour. We were not able to use our pass for the third day because it really rained and after watching some passengers get totally soaked both getting off and getting on a bus, we decided to stay dry. We would definitely do the Hop-On Hop-Off bus again.
Nancy and Trudy were very nice and informative. Enjoyed learning about New Orleans and it’s history. Wished we could have toured the super dome.
The driver was very good, knew lots of facts, entertained all of us, provided answers to questions. I would take it the next time I was in town.
An excellent way to see the different areas of New Orleans with a great guide to fill in the histor and stories of the city.
Even it was a bit cold and windy in December, the Hop On, Hop Off bus was a great way to see New Orleans. The stops we made and "Hopped off" were worth our time and the bus was always there when it said it would to pick up us. Park the car and "Hop on".
