I wasn't sure what to expect when the time required for this excursion totaled 12 hours. But the time flies! All of the students who work at PCC are gracious and talented. Great care is taken to educate visitors about Polynesian culture. The shows and food are wonderful. My family really enjoyed our day here.
Polynesian Cultural Center Luau was a great way to spend out last full day on our Hawaiian trip. We paid a little more to have a guide so we could see as much as possible. The luau food was very good (we did 3 luau's and all have about the same food) and the dancers were entertaining.
It was very interesting to visit all the islands cultures and beliefs all in one place. The Luau was very good as well.
This was my third visit—a trip with my 12 year old granddaughter. As with my other visits the sights and shows were fantastic. He staff is very welcoming and happy to give you a look inside their culture. This is a must do for first time visitors to Honolulu but you can skip the luau—the food is mediocre.
The time spent at the PCC with the Ambassador's ticket was absolutely awesome. I would great suggest this tour to people of all ages.
Interesting and educational. The luau was good and the Ha show was beautiful.
This is the first time our family visited PCC for a full day/evening. The Center exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed and had time to see most of the villages, the Ali'i Luau buffet and Ha Breath of Life spectacular. We chose that particular luau as we were more interested in Hawaii cuisine rather than the more common prime rib and seafood. We were informed correctly by Knox, our coach bus tour guide, not to expect to see everything in the village in one day, but we did cover most of the Center. We started by walking only a block from our condo at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, to the Ilikai where we were picked up by a full-sized, comfortably air-conditioned coach bus at about 10 am. The drive up along the east coast o the northern area of Oahu was breathtaking. We arrived at PCC at around 11:30. We had a delicious lunch at Pounders Restaurant at the marketplace, as recommended and arranged by Knox. We were too full to try desserts, but Aunty Emily's Bakery within the restaurant had a magnificent display of desserts, including island favourites. The Marketplace had many places to shop, but we left it to the afternoon before attending the last feature in the evening, the spectacular Ha Breath of Life show. PCC opened at noon, so we had time for lunch. Some wonderful professional photos taken at the entrance and at the Ali'i Luau. The villages representing Polynesian islands of the Pacific, were well presented. We particularly enjoyed the cruise in the large canoe admiring the great size of the Josepa canoe built according to ancient plans and used as a cultural teaching tool it is sailing classroom to islands for students of BYU cultural dances and demonstrations at villages especially those of Fiji and Aotearoa NZ where we enjoyed Kap, the great, seasoned Samoan storyteller and fire performer. Most of the performers are students of BYU, who go to classes in the morning. The Hawaiian Journey film in the theatre was beautiful and a nice short break from the heat outside. We enjoyed the luau buffet and entertaiinment during dinner. We were not interested in the tour of BYU upon leaving the villages. We did appreciate this option was great for those who were interested. Instead, we spent time shopping at the marketplace as we waited for the final performance. The Ha Breath of Life spectacular was excellent as a combination of Polynesian cultures into a family story of the circle of life. My husband and I have experienced a great luau at Paradise Cove 27 years ago, and enjoyed the beachside setting. I believe this is still offered, but this time we decided to try PCC with our adult children for a more full cultural experience. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the day at PCC as well.
Wonderful experience. We took the Ambassador package with Luau and transport from the hotel. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of great information on various Polynesian cultures and got us to all the major attractions on time.
We enjoyed this 12 years ago and we still enjoyed it this time, with our children.
A must do event in Oahu. Had the ambassador ticket so got picked up close to our hotel in the morning. We had a small group tour with a fantastic guide, Parley, who was very chatty and informative. The different islands were terrific and great fun. Buffet lunch and dinner. Luau during dinner and then the Ha Breath show which was amazing.
Wonderful overview of the various Polynesian cultures! Great activities and shows at each of the 7 villages! The luau and Breath of Life show in the evening were both excellent! Highly recommend this full day tour!
Very interesting tour. Spent the entire day at the village. Luau was not as expected. Food not great. Show pretty much what we saw all day. However, the final show of the day in the theatre was fantastic. That was worth the money we spent on tour.
I've been raving about the Polynesian Cultural Center to everyone I meet. It was a great day of fun and entertainment. Wish we had more time to spend there. It is a better event if you spend two days there.
Our tour guide was wonderful on the drive out. Then we were given a new tour guide for the Cultural Center. Both were great. I loved seeing the different villages and hearing the history about each of the Polynesian cultures.
