We had a great time, and our guide was fantastic. Very happy that we went when we did because the gardens seemed crowded to us, but apparently it is usually 10x worse. Very narrow pathways. Versailles was wonderful and having the private guide was excellent!
started with white powder from the limestone foothills of Normandy. to the white snow of Monet, to the colorful gardens of France... and the gargoyles holding their breathe, too much to comprehend. Lets just say France did it differently than everybody else
Comprehensive, well organised trip. Good way to see 2 big sights in one day. Great guide Frederick. Only disappointment was the lunch. Beautiful venue. Thought fish was a poor choice for a starter as a lot of people don't like fish; maybe a choice ie a salad instead. Main and dessert was fine. But, coffee in a paper cup! Would highly recommend tour, pricey, but small group so much better.
Very good, both locations were really packed, but that's nothing to do with the tour company. Included meal was excellent.
We truly enjoyed our trip to Giverny and Versailles. Michelle, our tour guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable. She greatly enhanced our understanding and appreciation of Monet's life and art, as well as the history that surrounds the Palace of Versailles. It was a most enjoyable day. Our only disappointment was that your online description in What to Expect, stated "watch the famous Musical Fountain Show every weekend from April to October". Our tour was Saturday, September 14. We were given tickets which also stated we would see the Musical Fountain Show. Our bus was departing before the show began. Needless to say, we thought the Fountain Show was included in the price we paid. We believe you need to correct your tour description or lower your fee accordingly.
great day out. our guide was excellent, well organized and lovely lunch. Guide meant we didn't need to queue.
Our guide Zara did a wonderful job! The Giverny stop was a delight, walking through Monet’s home and gardens. The lunch stop was picturesque and the food and ample wine were very good. Zara’s knowledge of Versailles was thorough and she kept the tour interesting. She was quite attentive especially when a couple in our group somehow misunderstood her seemingly clear as day instructions. Zara went out of her way to try to find the wayward people. This delayed us a bit but was happy to see her efforts to ensure all had a good experience. Go on this tour unless you want to spend a lot of time in the Versailles gardens.
My tour guide is wonderful, she speaks beautiful English, very funny and friendly. She has full knowledge of the location. The car is comfortable, lunch is great. I love it.
We were greeted pleasantly by the staff at the mtg spot. Fred our tour guide was on time and gave us a wonderful experience in giverny and Versailles. Fred was knowledgeable and made the trip fun. The lunch spot was exquisite and the food was good. I would highly recommend this tour. was great with 8 people..no more.Best way to see these 2 fabulous spots.
Our guide Zara was very well informed and extremely helpful. My husband has a disability and Zara arranged for a wheelchair and ensured he was able to tour the Versailles. The outdoor lunch was in a wonderful restaurant. The food and wine were excellent. Great tour, well worth it.
We had a wonderful day trip with Ivan as our guide- she was super knowledgable and sweet and made sure to give us plenty of time to explore on our own. This trip is definitely worth working into your vacation itinerary. Thank you, Ivan!
The time we had to explore Giverny was perfect. They got us there at about 9:30 and we had plenty of time to see both the gardens and the house, which both move very quickly. The lunch that was included was great as well. I just would’ve liked more time for the gardens at Versailles. The tour of the palace itself was very informative and fun thanks to our guide Isobel, but we only had 45 minutes to look at the gardens, which in reality are way too big to see in that amount of time.
Our guide, Julian, took our small group of 8 on a lovely tour of the French countryside. He told us many facts about the city of Paris and its residents. While we were driving to Monet's country house he told us about how many people live in Paris, how many live in the suburbs, and how many commute each day. When we arrived at the Monet estate, Julian allowed us to explore the water gardens, the upper gardens, and Monet's house at our own pace. The gardens were breathtaking and the house was warm and the art displayed was beautiful. The gift store at the exit was filled with beautiful gifts. Julian then drove us to a restaurant on the river with a water wheel, an excellent 4 course lunch with cider and wine. To top off the day, Julian drove us to The Castle of Versailles and took us on a tour that highlighted the history of the French Royalty. The Palace is ornate, gilded in gold with paintings on the arched ceilings. It is a masterpiece. After the Castle tour, Julian let us explore some of the gardens -- there are acres of flowers to view. We then returned to Paris and were all in awe of the day we had spent.
The weather was good, the gardens gorgeous in Giverny. Versaille was a site to behold. Lunch was country French and very good.
Absolutely one of my favorite days in France. Everything exceeded my expectations. The gardens are spectacular and the lunch was the ultimate welcomed surprise! Our guide was lovely!
One day to Monet's Garden and Versailles in peak tourism season didn't fill me with high expectations, but how wrong I was! Our guide, the remarkable Stephanie, was a font of knowledge with a gift for imparting that information in an entertaining and engaging way. Lunch at a picturesque mill house was wonderful and our small group relaxed and chatted over three courses and wine in the garden. Bliss.
Lovely pacing. Our tour guide was from England but has spent the last 12 years in France so she was able to navigate all the tour logistics with ease, getting us into Versailles well ahead of other guides who seemed to be having trouble with tickets. She was clear, knowledgeable and fun. Lunch at mill was delightful and yummy.
Our guide was personable and extremely knowledgeable about French history. He kept the flow at a reasonable pace. It was interesting getting out of the city into smaller towns.
Wanted to see both Giverny and Versailles but didn't want to do 2 more separate day trips, decided to go with a group tour to manage the logistics rather than on our own which we did to Fontainebleau and worked out beautifully, only 5 people in our group. Our driver/guide, Michelle, was a wealth of knowledge, very helpful and kept to a good time schedule which did not feel rushed at all but got us back exactly when they said they would. She was also very accommodating in dropping us off where we wanted. I would ask for her again next time we go and take the kids loved it!
A Five Star Value: Our tour included an in-depth view of Claude Monet's Gardens at Giverny, a fabulous four course luncheon at the historic Mill at Le Moulin de Fougeres, and an afternoon tour of the most significant architectural and historical aspects of Versailles and Gardens. Our guide, Mr. Silva, was charming, an expert in all aspects of the tour, invited and answered all of our questions, and expedited our entry to all locations. The minibus we traveled in was comfortable and, so, the day was a delight and a great value given all we did.
This was a fantastic tour! Our guide was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and so fun to be around. The food was AWESOME! You have plenty of time at each location to see everything you want. It was organized very well. Highly recommended
This tour was well worth booking - it was a perfect balance of Giverney to Versailles with the most delightful and entertaining delivery of succinct knowledge and history from our guide Nabilia. She was so good we are hoping to request her for another tour. If you want to experience the best of both of these places I seriously recommend this tour as it is small, informative but allows you freedom - thank you Nabilia and Viator!!
This tour was amazing! The day began at Giverny Monet's home and gardens. If you appreciate Monet's art, you will love this tour as you can clearly see where he got his inspiration! This was followed with a wonderful lunch at a small countryside converted mill. The food was incredible and the people were very kind and friendly. We ended the day at Versailles which was great - I learned much but still preferred Giverny. We had one tour guide for most of the day and his colleague gave us the tour of Versailles. Both tour guides were wonderful - very knowledgeable. I truly enjoyed this tour and would love to go again!!!
