We took the train from Florence and went to Pisa. We just wanted a simple walking tour explaining the history in the Field of Miracles and that is what we got. It was perfect and then we could do the rest on our own.
Hi, I wrote to you on Saturday to say that we had only 30 minutes of guide as there was a coach that the guide was more focused on than my friend and I. We had only 12 minutes in the Cathedral and we missed out on seeing other things in Pisa as we thought that our tour would take in the sights but had to leave that day to catch a plane so had no extra time to see other sights. We are not happy with this tour as we paid 29.44. Firstly the guide asked the people if they wanted to use the toilette! Why I do not know as you know if you are about to go on a tour you go beforehand this held the tour up by 20 minutes or so. I didn't think she should have asked people and to only have a tour of the Cathedral for 12 minutes to have to leave as others had tickets for the leaning tower, we were left to do our own thing after just 30 minutes. I cannot give a good review to be honest as I feel people should be aware that they may not get what they pay for but will leave putting anything down until I hear back from you as I am sure this will put others off going which I am sure it could be rectified. Regards Marian Tarr
We had looked forward to this tour and were staying in Pisa. This is the first tour with Viator that left us thinking was that it. The tour started over half an hour late whilst quite a number of people at the meeting point waited for a coach to arrive from Florence. When it started anticipation of the historical facts was awaited by us. A stop was made in front of the cathedral for some info. Inside the cathedral we had a five minute chat in front of lecture sculpture. Then given free time to look around ourselves. We assumed we would be taken around the inside of this amazing building to have a lot more of its history explained but no. We were all asked to exit the cathedral and follow the guide towards the leaning tower where we were given scant facts then told it was the end of the tour unless you had included the tower climb. This tour lasted 40 mins!? somewhat short of the advertised time. It left us feeling very disappointed, the first time with a Viator tour. The guide seemed disinterested and this is also the first time we have not given the guide a tip. Viator should look into this tour
The guide was really very nice and as all viator guides seemed to really knew her stuff. The walking tour was an interesting way to see the main features of Pisa and even though it poured with rain we enjoyed it, the good thing about Pisa is that almost every attraction is in walking distance and the leaning tower, Baptistry and Cathedral are just beautiful far more so than in photographs. We like viator and use them whenever in Italy, it's a good way to learn that bit extra.
First of all we had to wait 25 minutes before the tour started waiting for a busload of others who joined the tour. No inside visits of sights. Waste of money and time .
I accept that this tour was basic, but in total it lasted some 40/45 minutes. Other members of the tour agreed. Perhaps there is not much else to see in Pisa, but this tour as such should be taken off the menu. I have done Florence with you and that was much much better.
