This tour was very good hitting a number of excellent sites on the south coast. Sólheimajökull and Mýrdalsjökull glaciers were amazing. The walk along the black-sand beaches of Vik and the lava cliffs were superb. Lastly, the Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls top things off! Do this tour!
What a wonderful day. We had excellent weather conditions and the trip went very smoothly. Iceland has a jagged harsh beauty about it. Well worth every cent. My only complaint would be that on this particular day trip I had no way to charge my phone while on the bus. Others I could. Think ahead. Thanks Iceland!! I will never forget.
Tour was spectacular. Our guide Regina was extremely knowledgeable and very organized. Was a great experience.
A wonderful experience. Our guide, Regina, was very knowledgeable, obviously having an extensive background in geology and local history. Her constant narrative kept us informed and involved. It was a nice leisurely pace, with plenty of time for each stop. Highly recommended!
Because of miscommunication I missed the tour that I was originally booked for. However I was accommodated the same day on a smaller group tour to South Iceland. The tour guide and driver were experience and knowledgeable. I did not give a 5 because we only seen 1 glacier from a distance instead of 2.
The day trip was a little longer than we thought, but not a negative thing, just older people thing. we enjoyed all of the sights, the guide was knowledgeable and humorous. Iceland is a beautiful country.
Pros: - the scenery on this trip is amazing! Waterfalls, black sand beach, glaciers, etc You MUST see these sights! - the tour guide gave us a lot of interesting facts about the culture, the scenery, each town we visited, etc Cons: - the passenger pick up for this trip was a fiasco! We found a bus stop closer to our hotel so we requested a change in pick up three days prior to our trip. We had to connect with them FOUR times in order to secure this change and then the day of they still had the info wrong! They picked us up at our preferred location 30 min late. We also had to pay ectra $65 CDN for the pick up! They should also take into account tourists may not have access to a phone (or don't want to pay roaming charges) so email is the only option for updates, changes, etc - there is no bathroom on the bus and the bus doesn't meet up at a bus terminal. We left from a random gas station on the side of the road so be sure you can hold it for over 2 hrs until the first rest stop and another 2 hrs at the end of the day - there are no charging ports on the bus as there are with other bus companies so be sure your phone is charged and/or bring a battery pack as you will be taking a lot of photos/videos - the tour was supposed to be 10 hrs but we were only gone 9 hrs. We stopped at each location for only about 30 min which makes the day feel rushed. If we could have stayed out the full 10 hrs (or change it to 11 hrs) we could have seen more or had a more relaxed pace - in the trip description we were supposed to have an optional tour of "Lava" - a tourist destination where you can see real lava but we didn't stop here and it wasn't mentioned why we didn't - would be good to have an itinerary when you purchase your tickets so you know how long each leg will be and how long you have at each stop, etc - the bus driver smoked which was a turn off - not professional at all
Coach (60 seater) was comfortable, this trip is great as you see 2 waterfalls (one you can walk behind! Wear a waterproof coat and you'll be fine) and the famous black sand beaches and rock formations in the cliffs AND GLACIERS! Being able to go right up to a glacier and touch it, walk on it (and take a bunch of pictures) was the highlight of my day! A great trip and scenery throughout the entire coach journey which is great. Going past lava fields and numerous volcanoes/mountains.
great experience with a very informative and good guide in Jona. The entire tour was very well organized and managed.
Truly spectacular and the tour guide was amazing. She was so knowledgable. Seeing the waterfalls and black sand beach in real life is well worth the trip
The route taken on this route was sublime. And I was unable to contain my excitement at the sheer beauty of what Southern Iceland had to offer. This tour is a MUST whether you are or aren't visiting Iceland. I high recommend this as pictures do not this place justice. The tour guides were professional, friendly, and helpful. And there were suitable breaks in the course of the trip.
We completely enjoyed our tour to the south coast. Although the weather wasn't very cooperative our tour guide handled the situation very well. The places we visited were spectacular. My only regret is that we didn't wear more water resistant clothing so we ended up fairly damp by the end of the trip. However, the bus was warn and comfortable and we were none the worse for wear.
This was an excellent trip. We saw everything promised and more! The bus was very comfortable, and the guide was great. Highly recommended!
The guide was fantastic as were the sites. It was amazing being able to walk under the waterfall. The glaciers were amazing to see up close.
We had a very good guide who explained everything. Also, very kind and considerate of all guests. She was well informed.
We absolutely loved this tour! The bus was large and comfortable and our tour guide Petur was excellent! We were picked up right across from our hotel which was great. I was initially worried about being on a bus for so long, but the stops are frequent and we never felt cramped, etc. There was sufficient time at each location to wander a bit and take plenty of photographs. Definitely recommend!
Matt was an excellent tour guide with lots of information on what we were going to see on the tour. I especially enjoyed the fun facts and myths and folklore. He also gave us a lot of safety tips and told us why the signs are at the locations. Thanks for looking out for us! Also, Tomak was a very good driver. This was my first trip to Iceland and I would definitely recommend Viator.
Stina and Gummi were amazing tour guides! She told the best stories throughout the day and he kept us safe even in a windy rainy Icelandic adventure. I was traveling with my teen son and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
I have to say that it was fantastic. not only the places we visited but guide was great, getting us lot of informations about the places we visited and were passing on the way but also a lot of additional informations about the people in Iceland and their traditions. And driver was real professional, even adding some stories. YES, can suggest this trip to everyone who is planning to visit Iceland.
Spend a day exploring the unique sights of Iceland's South with Matt and Magic. Great stops with outstanding narration by our guide Matt and GREAT driving in less ideal conditions by our driver Magic.
Breath taking views! You see a lot with this tour. Would definitely recommend. Any Game of Thrones fans? You would love this tour!
The trip was great, saw beautiful mountain ranges, volcanic ash stained glaciers, impressive waterfalls and black beaches! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the geology and about Iceland in general, feel very informed and that we learnt a lot.The tour was organised well and with care and thought.
