This tour and cooking class was so informative and a lot of fun too! I had my own private guide and she answered all of my questions, even a lot I had about japanese culture in general and where off topic! She also told me about a few recipes while wandering around Tsukiji market. From there on we went to a very cute japanese restaurant where a very nice sushi chef teached me and another group how to make sushi. The meal was so huge and it was a very fun experience. After we finished, everyone got a certificate and the recipe with all of the instructions so you can also make sushi at home. I had an amazing time, I definetly recommend this to everyone who is interested in japanese cooking and Food in general!
A favorite tour in Tokyo! Our tour guide gave us wonderful insider information to offerings at the Fish Market. We sampled interesting local fare and were given insightful information. The sushi class was lots of fun and we felt very comfortable. Highly recommend!
Tak, our guide, enriched our knowledge of the Japanese food culture and the history of the fish market. The sushi class was awesome. Arigato Tak for the memories.
An interesting and informative tour of the area around Tsukiji Fish Market. Unfortunately, the walk around which used to be part of this tour is no longer possible as, at present, the outer market can no longer be visited until later in the morning and the tour, to fit everything in, starts quite early. However, there are still many interesting places to visit in the public market outside. The tour guide was informative, friendly, and helpful. After the market visit, the tour moves on to the sushi making course which is excellent and solved the puzzle as to how these items are made. We will certainly try it at home now. Afterwards, we ate our creations which more than adequately served as our lunch. We would have given this 5 stars but have reduced it to 4 due to the more limited tour of the outer market, arising due to recently implemented Tsukiji Market restrictions. However, the same restrictions will surely affect all such tours. As an introduction to Tsukiji Market and sushi making we found it to be most interesting and excellent fun.
This tour was extremely well-organized. The sushi making experience was great. One of my favorite tour pics remains me wearing my sushi chef robe. You also get a certificate at the end of this class. Official bragging rights on sushi making skills there.
Touring the outer market, you could see the variety of food and snacks that the Japanese culture offers. Though with the limited time, you cannot just casually queue for the good eats there which is a minor difficulty. The inner market offers a view into what really goes on behind the kitchen, food preparation. And the fruit market, gives a glance into the large variety and quantity of food that goes through Tokyo in a day. Onto the Sushi Making, it was fun and detailed, the ingredients fresh and delicious. The chef in charge of the demonstration was very lively and you could just get caught up in the atmosphere and mood.
Our guide was superb, the sushi chef was marvellous and very funny - highly recommended - especially if you''re an adventurous eater.
Loved every second of it. Huge thanks to Yoshi who was the perfect host there is no way we would have coped with such a trip without her excellent explanation of all the things around us. The outer market was brilliant, we sampled all kinds of new and strange foods....all were delicious. To top it all we then became sushi masters and enjoyed a fabulous banquet for lunch. That was great fun many thanks to the chef and team who gave us a warm welcome and were so impressive at what they do. Thoroughly recommend this to everyone.
Fantastic Tour with a great guide. Amazing class and very tasty!
