This was so worth the money! The highlight for me was the Night Tour. Our tour guide was absolutely fantastic, gave us so much information and behind the scenes info. We used the two day pass over and over, traveling to all the sights and enjoying the commentary along the way.
I bought a 2 day ticket and it wasn't long enough to see everything by getting off and on. Very glad to learn about the circulator bus that is free and goes to the same places. We have the information from the hop on hop off commentator and can see the rest of what we want with the circulator for free.
When we arrived into union station we had to take a taxi to the L'Enfant plaza while other hop on hop off bus tours sat at the station waiting to just sell the tickets. Once at the plaza we had no app to use and felt like other hop on hop off operators that we have used in other cities were friendlier and more helpful. I was given a leaflet with a phone number to reserve a place on the night tour, phoned from my English phone, put on hold for a couple of minutes to then be informed I would need to phone back. We never got to use the night tour. The second day we never used. I have used various hop on and hop off tour companies in different cities and always found them invaluable, this is the first time I have felt disappointed .
The tour guides were knowledgeable and humerous. they took us to just the right places. Your signs need to be more visible please although I guess they cannot be too large.
We enjoyed our tour bus trips while in DC. The drivers were respectful and helpful as well as safe drivers. We had two tour guides-Ken and Henry. They both were very knowledgeable, friendly, funny and helpful. They made the rides very enjoyable. Henry was awesome on the twilight tour. His knowledge on the sites was very impressive. He told me things I did not know about the memorials. He also made a point of making sure we knew the rules and to follow them. I would recommend both Henry and Ken as tour guides. I would have no issues scheduling another bus tour with company. Thank you.
One of the best hop on bus ive been on . So all the sights .the bonus tour wsd amazing practically seen all of wasngton in one night . Included some walking tours The white house lincoln memorial korean war memorial. Our guide wss friendly funny and passionate about his city .highly recommend.
We found the pick up location to be in a less-than-desirable area. The plaza that it was the only shelter from the cold was all but closed down and a little creepy to walk around. In fact, at the end of the tour, there are 3 drop-off areas and the tour guide strongly recommended that we not go to the 3rd option which was back to the original pick up place because he didn't feel that it was safe. Our tour guide was Henry. He is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the area and its history and we appreciate his passion for educating his guests. We found it a little disconcerting that the majority of his passion was delivered at the FDR and MLK, Jr. memorial sites and very little information was given regarding other memorials, including the Lincoln, Korean, WWII, Vietnam and Korean Memorials. These sites represent hundreds of thousands of people who have also fought for our country and it's rights.
We had a really wonderful time, and saved the hassle of driving to all the sites separately! When I lost my paper tickets to the wind, they were on top of things and issued me e-tickets on my phone. We could stay at each site for as long as we wished, a bus was not far away! Want to save time and hassle? Book one of these tours!
We had a difficult time fining stops and when we did locate a tour bus they said we had to go back to union station and get our form signed. There was no Bonus Tour - which was supposed to be a boat tour and when we called to schedule with them on the number provided they said NO they no longer do that.
The tour in the morning was quick and informative because traffic was lite. Later in the day, buses were slower. I rode the entire route in the morning and hopped at the last stop to explore the areas of interest. Dre, my tour guide, was fabulous, knowledgeable about the area and monuments. The night tour was excellent, getting a personnel, close up tour of several monuments.
The hop on hop off bus was always more than 30 minute wait. That's a lot of time when you are trying to see the city in 1 day.
The Hop on and Off bus was perfect for us. Only issue was finding the office to pick up our tickets. They said we could get them at any of the stops but couldn't find the spots they stopped. We arrived on a Sunday and the large Mall we were to pick them up had no stores open--no one to ask. Had it not been for a wonderful young lady walking thru the mall, we never would have found it. We had a two day pass which included the night tour. The weather was wonderful so we were able to sit upstairs. Don't think you see as much inside bus. All employees were helpful. FYI One thing we did discover on the regular city buses after our 2 days ended the regular cost is 2 but for seniors it is only 1. They don't tell you that
